Kate Berryman is the wife of John Berryman (1914-1922). John Berryman, American poet, taught at Princeton, Harvard, the University of Cincinnati and at the University of Minnesota from 1955-1972. He published many poems, first, in small magazines and later in more than five volumes of poetry. He won the Pulitizer Prize in 1965 for, 77 Dream Songs. Berryman committed suicide in 1972.
